Prop Trading Automation

Prop trading is a great opportunity for traders to access significant amounts of capital and give them a real shot at being able to trade full-time.  With that in mind, we decided to automate the administration and operation of an actual prop firm, to make it easier for companies to offer assessments to their clients.  Initially, we integrated with the company’s payment processor on the e-commerce side and captured the purchaser information.

Then, we integrated with a broker, where we can create a trading account for each trader.  We can monitor trading activity on an automated, real-time basis.  Next, we were able to integrate with email hosting as a solution to automate event-triggered notifications, such as welcome emails with login credentials, passing or failing an assessment, repurchasing, etc. Presently, we are an industry leader in this rapid-growing sector.  We represent 75 prop firms using our technology, and we have successfully created over 1.3 million individual accounts.

CFDs

The growth and prevalence of CFDs (Contract For Difference), outside of the U.S., have been tremendous.  CFDs are off-exchange equivalents of on-exchange assets.  That could be anything from gold to indices to individual stocks to various commodities. Typically, part of the appeal is that you can trade CFD products with more leverage than you would get with on-exchange trading. Another benefit is that you can trade those products within the same trading account as Forex. So, you have your money working for you in one concentrated place.

In the U.S., all assets have to be traded through different accounts…stock account, forex account, options account, futures account, etc. It’s sort of a fractured regulatory structure that can make it difficult to trade because you’ve got to constantly be moving money around, keeping track of separate accounts with different margin rules and other considerations.  The concept of the CFD makes all of that easier to navigate.  Now, you can access all the different assets and different markets in one convenient place, and you get the added benefit of better leverage as well.  The downside to CFDs is that they generally come with a higher price tag, in terms of spread.
